The idea is based in the star wars universe where you are a jedi knight and you must survive to an emperial attack. I felt I needed to review this book as I really hope it gets more attention than it has got! The story is truly wonderful, the characters are solid and the general experience of reading this book is amazing! It's criminal this has been dismissed as a YA novel. What's more, during his time serving the Emperor, Darth Vader learned a new Force-power; one called, amusingly enough, "This Force power is introduced in Timothy Zahn's novel All this raises the intriguing possibility that Palpatine discovered enough about the Unknown Regions to narrow down his search, and that he then sent Darth Vader out on a quest to discover this "Tom Bacon is one of Screen Rant's staff writers, and he's frankly amused that his childhood is back - and this time it's cool.
Having been an avid reader of the previous 'expanded universe' SW books, I have to admit I was a little doubtful about beginning all over again with these new books released to coincide with Episode VII. Definitely fits into the YA sort of genre with the main characters being young people and with reference to sex etc. Loved the two main characters..hope to see them again sometime in the star wars universe! Enrolling at the Imperial Academy is nothing less than a dream come true for both of them. Fantastic book.
This is a great introduction to "Force Awakens" and the perhaps explain the motivation behind "Kylo Ren", who ultimately may be just like his predecessor Vader, a pawn in a bigger game. LOST STARS by Claudia Gray is probably one of my top five Star Wars books with the others being THE THRAWN TRILOGY by Timothy Zahn and SHATTERPOINT by Matthew Stover. It's almost a mix of Twilight, Romeo and Juliet with a huge Star Wars ingredient thrown into the mix. Tom's focus tends to be on the various superhero franchises, as well as Star Wars, Doctor Who, and Star Trek; he's also an avid comic book reader.
