Milwaukee is also within a day’s drive of one-third of the U.S. population, so it’s easy to get here. Regionally, the cities in our competitive set are Chicago, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, and Detroit; nationally, it’s cities like Austin, Nashville, and Portland. The convention center campus also has a 4,100-seat theater and a 12,700-seat arena. It’s a city whose wonderfully diverse people are working to create opportunities and build brighter futures for every family.This is going to be a spectacular convention, and that’s because of the extraordinary hospitality, warmth, and generosity the City of Milwaukee, business leaders, elected leaders, and the people of Milwaukee have shown us from the start. From its cutting-edge science and technology sectors to finance, food production, education, and manufacturing, Milwaukee’s economy continues to attract a highly-skilled, 21st century workforce. The city is also home to over 500 houses of worship, which makes us a good fit for faith-based groups. There aren’t many cities across the country that could commit 16,000 rooms to a single convention. If planners want volunteers stationed at the airport and elsewhere to greet or guide attendees as they move around town, we know we are up to the task.
