We already know the Willard family is very involved in the Loop, both of Jakob’s parents work there. Later, in the shower, he checks out his temporary body. We return to The Loop in episode 2 of Tales From The Loop but this time we follow Jakob as he goes about his day.
She kisses Jakob (as Danny) but their teeth clack. Tales from the Loop Episode 2, “Transpose”, is a broody, realistic body swap story where two boys decide to be each other for a day. Danny (as Jakob) speaks to Jakob’s parents about wanting to work at the Loop and that he does not want to draw anymore. Jakob (as Danny) is in hospital on a ventilator in a coma. While the idea itself is familiar to anyone whose seen one of these body-swap episodes before, this time out the grim undertone almost resonates a Black Mirror-esque vibe as things go horribly wrong. As a loud whooshing sound rises up when Jakob steps inside, both boys awaken to find themselves stuck in each other’s bodies.In town they run into Russ Willard but manage to convince him nothing is awry before beginning the tricky task of living each other’s lives. Afterward, no-one can find Danny in the town.
Unlike Danny though, Jakob finds it difficult to come out of his shell and in particular, asking May, one of the girls at school, out on a date.
So far so good, and although individually the episodes themselves are decent, I’d imagine as a collective whole, with knowledge of everything that’s happened, Tales From The Loop may just end up as one of the more memorable sci-fi series of the year.

Jakob raises how Danny’s mother keeps going on about the quarry — Danny says he is smarter than that and wants to remain in each other’s bodies for another day.At this point, we are witnessing how Danny has become accustomed to a more introverted life where he is expected to be important at the Loop.An upset Jakob (as Danny) enters the sea mine object to see if it swaps back.
There’s a heavy expectation that Jakob works at the Loop. Episode 2 presents Jakob, a quiet, smart kid that spends most of his time drawing, getting good grades and hangs out with his friend Danny. Jakob finds himself up at the barn where he kisses Lauren while at home admiring his new body.That evening Danny’s Mother tells him he won’t be able to work at The Loop thanks to his grades and goes on to consign defeat, telling Danny to work at the quarry instead.
When Jakob enters the object, there’s this whooshing sound that suddenly stops and they both realize they have swapped bodies; initially, Jakob freaks out but then, after realizing it is really easy to keep swapping by using the object, they both agree to be each other for the day.Jakob (as Danny) continues to paint the barn Danny was working on. This is all a dream of course but it’s enough to get Danny thinking.At school the next day, the duo decide not to switch bodies for the time being but when Jakob sees Danny kissing May, he changes his mind and heads back to see his friend. They anticipate Jakob moving on to have a prosperous career at the Loop, too.
