Nun möchte NBC aus dem Kinoklassiker eine mehrteilige Fernsehserie machen. The irony is that Outbreak, for all its lurid finesse, ends up leaving us more dazed than terrified. With the cast involved I suppose I was looking for more, the script however, made the movie hit several sour notes for me. Let us know what you think in the comments below. Now it is the job of agencies, doctors and the military to keep it all under control at any cost. The bland and sterile style of the movie hinders the decent premise (but by no means original) and makes it average overall. Petersen's vigilant, enlivening direction never allows the story's death-of-mankind topic to undermine its personal powers, deftly mixing in humor, as well as other tonal lighteners, to nurture it. With Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey. Now I need to see Contagion. It may all be a tad hammy... but the fear is palpable.
