The gentle curve of the mid case hugs your wrist, making the transition between case and bracelet smooth. Usually when a brand makes changes to an existing watch, they aren’t as obvious as what Lorier have done with the Neptune.
The taper is perfect and, combined with the small push-button clasp, the watch feels balanced.
I’m a big fan of what Lorier is doing, and it’s very clear that they’re continuing to build up their fan base through the release of well-designed and affordable mechanical watches. When looking at the dial of the watch, the first thing that stood out to me was the brushed bezel surrounding the dial. Lorier’s improvements and refinements on the Neptune Series 3 are thoughtful and effective. Though thoroughly modern in feel and scale, there are a couple of vintage details here, among them the box acrylic crystal and the oversized screw-down crown. So when you see a mechanical chronograph watch at under $500, there’s a good chance that it’s powered by the same ST19 movement that’s in the Gemini.
