looking glass movie review

It was a 'slow-burner' anyway, but you expect some kind of explanation at the end to make it worth the wait. I was delighted to see that he still is able to be convincing as a believable characters without overacting the whole time.

Cage himself becomes a voyeur and half the running time consists of him watching the usual sexual situations play out. But things are... odd around those parts. That's part of what makes it work though.

And finally, there's a fatally incoherent plotline full of holes.

I have no idea what Nicolas Cage's agent is smoking, but it must be strong stuff.

What he delivers instead is tedium, where even the climactic reveal proves both underwhelming and predictable.Cage is admirably restrained throughout (and, to his credit, none the less compelling for it), with the exception of one scene, involving a violent barroom encounter between Ray and a burly bouncer, in which he finally gets to cut loose in a welcome, typically gonzo moment. Oh Mr Cage you've done it again. 42 out of 59 found this helpful weird storyline and boring, dont waste your time nothing much happens. When I saw it say "the end" i was confused.Did someone pull a hoax and release this movie incomplete? Bribe someone to get you back on the "A" list or something but movies like this have gotta stop. 20 out of 36 found this helpful. Don't pay attention to slhma-86182's review of this movie. Really the only similarity that 'Looking Glass' has to that film is that it was set in a motel in the middle of nowhere.

More strange things begin happening, including Ray finding a dead pig in the pool, which he inexplicably decides to get rid of by setting fire to the carcass in the desert. Unfortunately there is a large portion of today's movie audience always expecting lots of CGI which for me are movies akin to soulless software programs.

His latest — and I use the term speculatively, since by the time you read this review, another one may have already opened — is Looking Glass, a thriller directed by … Like most cage movies, it was poor. Nicholas Cage does an excellent job displaying his internal struggle to fight temptation vs. doing the right thing. I was left with a few unanswered questions but chalked it up to people just being plain old strange. Well, Ray (played by Cage) and his wife Maggie are trying to escape their past and get a new start on life after the death of their daughter. A cop with a needling sense of humor (Tunney does fine with the material, which, as scripted by Glenn Kenny was the chief film critic of Premiere magazine for almost half of its existence. What a cagey lame duck. This film has everything you expect from a typical Nicolas "I'll take anything as long as I'm the protagonist" Cage film. It is a slow movie that's definitely missing a lot of explanations, along with many plot themes that are plain unrealistic and things don't really add up at times.

Like most cage movies, it was poor.
While Cage's character Ray is exploring the motel, he discovers a crawl space that leads to a two-way mirror where he can see what is happening (e.g. Entertaining. Unfortunately mostly the latter. My vote is two.

His latest — and I use the term speculatively, since by the time you read this review, another one may have already opened — is Similar in certain respects to Gay Talese's controversial non-fiction book Ray soon discovers the motel's distinguishing characteristic, a secret passageway that allows him to peer into one of the rooms via a two-way mirror. I will always remember the film 'Vacancy' because I went into it with zero expectations and ended up having one of the best film experiences I can remember. Was this review helpful? However, it wasn't a movie I'd say "Hey, go out and see Looking Glass!" 18 out of 27 found this helpful This was a thoroughly dull experience from beginning to end.
