According to Deborah Papas, gemologist and jewellery expert, one of the Queen’s tiara stands out above all the rest for its high value.The Greville emerald tiara was handmade by Parisian jewellery house Boucheron in 1919.The stunning style features a 93.70 carat cabochon-cut emerald in the centre.The frame is made of platinum, and features five more emeralds and diamonds.Mrs Greville, a close friend of the Royal Family and the Queen Mother, left her entire jewellery collection to Queen Elizabeth when she died.Due to its high quality and abundance of precious stones, as well as strong links to royal history, experts believe it could fetch up to £10million at auction.Ms Papas said: “With such strong historical provenance, from Mrs Greville to the Queen Mother, and now the Queen, an elegant jewel such as this would be estimated to fetch in the region of £5-10 million at auction.”The tiara was one of the Royal Family’s lesser known pieces, until it was worn at a high profile royal wedding in 2018.Princess Eugenie was allowed to borrow the tiara for her big day, when she married Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.While other tiaras in the Queen’s collection may not be quite as expensive as the Greville emerald tiara, many other tiaras are valued in excess of £1million.Meghan Markle wore a bandeau diamond tiara from the royal collection on her wedding day in 2018.The beautiful style featured an art deco bandeau of diamonds, which were originally made for Queen Mary in 1932.Uniquely, the tiara also featured a detachable brooch.Prior to Meghan and Harry’s wedding, it is thought the tiara had not been worn publicly since the Queen’s sister Princess Margaret wore it.Upon her wedding day in 2011, Kate Middleton also wore a tiara from the Queen’s collection.Kate wore the Cartier Halo tiara, which was originally crafted for the Queen Mother by her husband, King George VI.The tiara has been valued between £750,000 and £1.25million.Since her wedding day, the tiara has become a firm favourite of royal fans.After her marriage to Prince William, Kate also delighted royal fans by wearing the Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara.The tiara was once a favourite of William’s late mother, Princess Diana.
