Thank You for Your Service seeks to put on screen difficulties veterans face upon return from war zone and in my opinion that was done pretty solid. The Soldier with PTSD said thanks, but when the pills ran out, he was still in the hole.

The Soldier with PTSD cried out, "Hey, help me. The movie had scenes in the beginning of what would be the conflict later in the film. The other way to look at it is as a depressing statement about the level of care veterans receive today and how ill-equipped they are to deal with the problems they bring back home. And this is a hard movie to watch for those who have served and the family's that struggle with the effects of war on there loved ones. The very few sexual scenes were largely off camera. United States war veterans are susceptible to many effects after combat, specifically PTSD and other mental issues. He got down on his knees and prayed for the Soldier with PTSD, then he left. It impels the viewer to contact his elected officials to implore them to solve the problem. Anything really, just want to compare some things to what I do, see how others react etc. If you don't believe in PTSD or that soldiers come back with real emotional scars from their service, this will largely come across as whining and griping and might be viewed as political propaganda for one side or the other. Instead, we are shown a traumatized character with agency and will, watching as he rises phoenix-like from the fire of the plane crash, searching for the meaning of every human gesture, and in turn for the meaning of life. The film did tend to get a little too dramatic at times but that is expected for an emotional settings.
Miles and Beulah do not exaggerate their roles of being mentally scarred from war, and specifically Miles, handles himself just as I would imagine a war veteran to. The audio was EXCELLENT (which is not true for any number of modern movies); The ordeals and anxieties of these vets kept the story line well within reason but perhaps a bit compressed. Bypassing the battlefield almost entirely, Thank You For Your Service is a different type of war movie that focuses on the fight back on home soil and internally rather than the bullet strewn one that takes place in the combat zone.
